Benicia Arsenal FC

AFC Manager – Jim Lindemuth

AFC stands for Arsenal Futbol Club. This position provides support in any capacity to the Arsenal Team managers.  They help with the got soccer website, team snap and other programs for registering for tournaments.  This position also helps and instructs team managers how to communicate with the other teams for scheduling games and referees.  The arsenal team manager typically provides support to newer team managers who are learning how to maneuver their job but has at times helped some seasoned team managers with unusual events that have come up.

AFC Registrar – Open

AFC stands for Arsenal Futbol Club. Works with each competitive team registrar to get players registered with US Club and coordinates and makes all the player cards for competitive teams.

AFC Treasurer – OPEN

AFC stands for Arsenal Futbol Club.

– Acts as a liaison and contact point to the select team treasurers and managers. Trains team treasurers how to track team fund balances and how to submit payment requests.

– Collects and deposits in to the bank any player payments and team fundraising activities. This information is then submitted to the treasurer to enter into the accounting systems

– Records player payments into registration software and monitors any players not up-to-date with payments to the select coordinator.

– Receives and revises payment requests and then forwards to treasurer

– Assists in reconciliation of team accounts and determination of team funds to be refunded.

Age Group Coordinators

There will be Age Group Coordinators (AGCs) assigned to the following age groups to assist the Recreational Coordinator in administering the recreational league. Their main purpose will be for communications between the age groups they’ve been assigned to and the recreational coordinator.

The AGCs will be responsible for assisting with teaming, complaint resolutions, registration assistance and game scheduling.

Assistant Competitive Coordinator – OPEN

Assists the Competitive Coordinator with whatever he/she needs help with. Helps the tournament coordinator with getting the tournaments organized.

Assistant Recreational Coordinator – Carlos Martinez

Assists the Recreational Coordinator with whatever he/she needs help with. Assists with finding coaches, teaming, getting player ranks, and attends board meetings when needed.

Background Check Coordinator – Andrea Jenest

This person shall coordinate all activities regarding background checks for all recreational coaches including head coaches and assistant coaches. He/she will need to work with the Treasurer and Registrar to ensure everyone completes the necessary documents and videos prior to taking the field. He/she will report to the board and the DOC, any coach who has not completed the background check process.

Coaches Invitational Coordinator – Kathryn Osmer

This person shall coordinate volunteers to help run the Coaches Invitational in November. He/she shall get the necessary permission and keys from the city of Benicia Parks and Rec, order Coaches Invitational T-shirt’s, cupcakes, and coordinate distribution of those items to participants. He/she shall also arrange for field set up and take down using the volunteers.

Field Lining Coordinator (Comp) – Connie Manning

This person would find (with the help of the Team Manager) and organize people who volunteer to line fields by making a schedule. The schedule would include field lining for Benicia Community Park (BCP) for both spring and fall seasons and for Robert Semple for Spring season. I have examples of what the schedule would look like. You would organize two field lining clinics for those that are new to field lining. The Fields and Equipment Coordinator would run the clinic so you would need to collaborate with him/her on dates, times, and locations. You would also send weekly reminders to people who’s turn it is to line fields and enforce it.

The schedule would include field lining for Liberty, Semple, Jack London, and possibly Henderson (if we use it). I have examples of what the schedule would look like. Fields Advocate Coordinator – Lynden Bradley

This person shall politely and professionally represent our organization in advocating for all weather fields in Benicia by heading the Fields Advocate Committee and organizing committee members to attend city council meetings monthly to lobby for space and finances to get these fields built.

Fundraising Coordinator – Rachelle Dunn

This person shall oversee the club’s fundraising efforts and provide support where needed. This person would also organize up to 4 meetings per year to discuss options for fundraising or to trouble shoot problems with the fund raising efforts. This person would keep track of the accounts receivable and payable to and from the club for the fundraising efforts and report to the board of directors (especially the treasurer).

Game Scheduler – Rec – Jennifer Johnson and Comp – Patricia Flynn

This person schedules games on our fields in Benicia. You’ll be trained by current game schedulers and collaborate with the Referee Coordinator and/or the Referee Assignor to ensure proper scheduling prior to publishing. We need one person to schedule games on the recreational side and one person to schedule games on the competitive side.

Goal Set Up (Rec) – OPEN

Organize and coordinate a goal set up schedule using volunteers for recreational games only that you find with the help of a board member. You’ll have exclusive access to the game schedule to determine dates, times, and fields for set up to aid in making the schedule. You’ll organize 2 or 3 training sessions prior to the season opener using the fields and equipment coordinators as the trainers. You’ll send weekly reminders to volunteers that are due to set up or take down for that week and be sure they follow through. Fields you’ll coordinate for goal set up are Liberty, Jack London, and BCP (and possibly Joe Henderson).

Kicknic Coordinator – OPEN

This person will organize “carnival type” booths with an emphasis on soccer related activities (when possible) at opening day. He/she will organize volunteers to run the booths and coordinate sales of tickets. He/she will also keep track of accounts payable and receivable and report to the fund raising coordinator and/or the treasurer. He/she will be responsible for getting whatever permits or permissions that might be needed from the City Parks and Rec department.

Poker Tournament Coordinator – Reba Halverson

This person shall coordinate the Poker Tournament fundraiser. He/shall secure volunteers to assist, find a professional to help host it, advertise it, coordinate selling tickets for it, coordinate food and beverage, and communicate progress with the board.

Player Rankings Coordinator – Nai Paz 

This person would gather player ranks from recreational coaches near the end of the recreational season and put them all in a spreadsheet. He/she would then organize players from the previous season along with potential new players from the current season and make a list for the double blind draft with name, birthdate, gender, and rank all listed. Then sort by rank and then birthdate. Once completed, send to the recreational coordinator for the teaming process.

Referee Class Coordinator – Reba Halverson

This person shall organize and advertise classes for referees. Classes consist of referee certification, or continued classroom training. He/she shall either teach the class or organize a qualified individual to teach the class. He/she shall organize refreshments and  volunteers to proctor the classes.

Spirit Wear Coordinator – Harmony Hayner

This person works with the Spirit Wear Booth Coordinator to oversee the ordering and stock for spirit wear. He/she would communicate directly with the sales company for needed inventory and online product and sales and report to the board about progress and needs.

Spirit Wear Booth Coordinator – Joanne Palacios 

This person will work with the Spirit Wear Coordinator  in coordinating volunteers to work at booths throughout the spring and fall seasons to sell Spirit Wear. The Spirit Wear Booth Coordinator will coordinate funds, inventory, and Booth setup between booth volunteers and the Spirit Wear coordinator as well as the treasurer. He/she will also help with orders for items that are out of stock.

Tournament Coordinator – Dora Degeorgis 

This person shall coordinate the competitive soccer tournaments that we host in Benicia. He/she shall work with the Competitive Coordinator and the Director of Coaching to get sanctioning, secure fields, dates, volunteers, food, Spirit Wear, awards, and advertise to teams to get sign ups.

Volunteer Coordinator (Competitive) – Open

This person will contact each competitive team manager and gather the rosters from each team and list the players name, the corresponding parent or guardians name, list whatever volunteer job that parent or guardian did for the club (even if nothing was done it should be listed as “N/A”), list the team managers name, the team name, the head coaches name, and the approximate number of hours spent doing that volunteer job. There will be a volunteer form distributed for the Competitive Volunteer Coordinator and each team manager to fill out and hand in to the Competitive Volunteer Coordinator. Once properly filled out with all player names and parent/guardian listed, the Competitive Volunteer Coordinator will turn it in to the League Volunteer Coordinator for processing.

UK Host Coordinator – Heather Vitale 

This person shall coordinate paces to stay amongst our volunteer host families. He/she will find dates and places for the trainers to stay while they’re with us from August 1st to September 30th. They will also arrange a thank you gathering/celebration prior to their departure.

Uniform Coordinator (Recreational) – Jenny Beaumont

This person will find a soccer uniform company to supply recreational uniforms within a given budget. He/she shall gather sizes from registered players and find a uniform style to order. He/she shall place the order in a timely manner to be able to distribute uniforms at the Coaches training clinic in August. He/shall have players and teams organized so that all players get the size they requested.

This person shall chair the website committee and be responsible for updating the website by adding new relevant material and removing old irrelevant material as stated by a board member. He/she shall also be part of the communications committee.
