COMPETITIVE PROGRAM

MISSION
Benicia Arsenal F.C. aims to develop each and every player to his or her full potential. We will achieve this through creating a positive learning environment which is focused both on player and personal development, along with focus upon technical practice. The BAFC program is driven by our enthusiasm for the game of soccer.
VISION
For Benicia Arsenal FC to be recognized as a leader in developing technically gifted soccer players who gain a solid understanding of how to play the game in an exciting and competitive way.

Competitive Teams U9-U19
All of our competitive travel teams play within Norcal Premier Soccer’s leagues. Each year we form teams and place them at the level best suited to developing each team’s technical skills and tactical awareness. We have teams at the Premier, Gold, Silver and Bronze levels.
The head coach is a volunteer who has been interviewed, certified, and approved by BAFC based on their experience, licenses, background checks, etc.
Academy Program U8
Our U8 academy competitive teams are also formed at tryouts each year.
These players play in our recreational program and have an additional practice with the competitive team each week. The Fall training sessions run from July to November ending with a tournament. Trainings are enjoyable and developmentally appropriate and focus upon building techniques and game awareness.
In Spring, the team begins playing in the Nor Cal Premier league as a full time team.
TIME COMMITMENT
Tryouts for all age groups are held in May.
Training starts in Mid-June and continues year round until the next year’s tryouts. Typically training will break for Winter in late December, January and resume in February.
Each team (u9 and older) has 3 training sessions per week and teams play soccer year round. In addition to league play, they also compete in Norcal State Cup and tournaments.
Our u8 academy teams has 1 training session per week on top of their recreational program time commitments. This team will not play in the Norcal Fall season but rather will play a tournament at the end of the season. In Spring the team will assemble as a full time team that plays in league and one tournament.
Each team will play in 1-4 tournament weekends during the Summer and Fall. The Fall league runs from August through November. Spring league runs from March through May. State Cup schedules vary by age group, but typically begin in September, ending in December for younger teams and concluding in Spring for older teams.
